We are seeking an experienced Configuration Engineer to manage product configuration and engineering data throughout the product lifecycle.

The role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, consistency, and traceability of product configurations, ensuring that engineering data, product structures, BOMs, drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation are properly controlled and aligned.

The Configuration Engineer will work closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations, supporting product development, engineering changes, releases, NPI, and production activities.

This is a hands-on role that requires a good understanding of engineering products and development processes, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies between engineering and manufacturing data.

Key Responsibilities

Manage configuration throughout the product lifecycle, from development through production.
Maintain product structures, multi-level BOMs, revisions, and released configurations.
Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and implementation of engineering changes.
Control engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, manufacturing documentation, and other technical data.
Ensure consistency between Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations data.
Prepare and control product release and engineering change packages.
Review configurations and identify BOM discrepancies, revision conflicts, missing information, and documentation gaps.
Ensure engineering changes are correctly implemented across relevant functions.
Maintain full traceability of product configurations and engineering changes.
Support NPI, production readiness, audits, and configuration verification activities.
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure product structures and technical data accurately reflect the released design.
Drive improvements to configuration management processes, data quality, and product lifecycle workflows.

B.Sc. in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in Configuration Management, Product Data Management, Engineering Data Management, or a similar engineering environment.
Strong understanding of BOM structures, product configurations, revisions, and engineering change processes.
Good understanding of engineering development and product lifecycle processes.
Experience working with engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and manufacturing data.
Experience with PLM, PDM, ERP, or similar engineering / product data management systems.
Ability to understand complex product structures and identify inconsistencies between engineering data and manufacturing requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
Strong ownership and process discipline.
Fluent English.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with complex hardware products and multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Experience supporting NPI and production environments.
Experience with multi-level BOMs and complex product structures.
Knowledge of engineering change and configuration management best practices.
Experience working with PLM/ERP system integration.
Experience in high-reliability or regulated industries is an advantage.

A technically oriented Configuration Engineer who understands how an engineered product is developed, structured, released, changed, and manufactured.

The ideal candidate is not simply a document controller. They can understand product structures and engineering changes, identify inconsistencies and missing information, work with engineers to resolve them, and ensure that the released configuration accurately represents the intended product.

Strong attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to work across multiple functions are essential for success in this role.
