A leading technology company is looking for an Optical Communications Technical Lead for a senior technical role combining optical communications architecture, technology leadership, and system integration of advanced optical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end optical communications link architecture, from transmission to reception.
Define optical transmit and receive chains, photonic components, and their interfaces with electronics and digital subsystems.
Lead modem-related aspects, including modulation, coding, and synchronization, in collaboration with development teams.
Own link performance analysis, including link budgets, BER, OSNR, and receiver sensitivity.
Lead system integration, performance verification, and collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams and external vendors.
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electro-Optics, Photonics, or Physics with relevant specialization.
7+ years of experience developing data-carrying optical communication systems, such as fiber-optic transceivers, coherent optical systems, or free-space optical communications.
Experience designing or integrating optical transmit and receive chains.
Strong understanding of optical link budgets, OSNR, BER, and receiver sensitivity.
Familiarity with modem architectures and FPGA / high-speed digital interfaces.
Proven technical leadership and experience integrating complex systems.
Advantages: Experience in laser communications, fiber-to-free-space coupling, or high-reliability systems.
