A leading technology company is looking for an experienced System Architect to lead the architecture, system definition, and end-to-end technical integration of advanced communication systems.
Own the end-to-end system architecture, technical definition, and system requirements.
Define functional architecture, operational scenarios, subsystem boundaries, and interfaces across Optical, TX/RX, and Digital subsystems.
Establish and manage system performance budgets, including link budget, power, data rate, latency, timing, pointing, and thermal considerations.
Lead system-level trade-offs to optimize performance, cost, complexity, schedule, and risk.
Drive end-to-end integration across optical, TX/RX, digital, hardware, software, and other multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Lead system design reviews, technical decision-making, and resolution of complex system-level challenges.
Define system-level verification and validation strategies and ensure requirements are objectively verifiable.
Provide technical direction to subsystem leads, ensuring alignment between system architecture, implementation, and overall performance objectives.
M.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in complex multidisciplinary systems.
Proven experience in system engineering, system architecture, or senior technical leadership.
Strong understanding of communication systems, end-to-end signal chains, and TX/RX architectures.
Experience defining system requirements, interfaces, performance budgets, and verification plans.
Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines, including hardware, RF, digital, optics, software, and control.
Knowledge of FPGA-based digital communication systems, including high-speed ADC/DAC, DSP, modems, FEC, synchronization, and clocking architectures.
Experience with system simulation, modeling, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation.
Background in satellite, aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability communication systems.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive technical decisions across organizational boundaries.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience in optical communications, laser communications, or electro-optical systems.
Familiarity with Pointing, Acquisition and Tracking (PAT) systems.
Experience with optical or RF link-budget analysis.
Experience with satellite communications or inter-satellite links.
We are looking for a technical leader with a strong system-level perspective, capable of moving between high-level architecture and detailed engineering discussions, driving quantitative trade-offs, and leading complex systems from requirements and architecture through integration and qualification.
